William Babell (1690 - 1723) - English musician, composer and prolific arranger of vocal music for harpsichord. He learned music with his father, later also with J. Ch. Pepusch and probably G. F. Händel as well. In addition to popular arrangements for harpsichord, he is the author of a sonata for violin and basso continuo, a collection of
Concertos op.3 in 7 parts for one or more
sixth flutes was published by J. Walsh in 1726, three years after the author's death.
