Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689 – 1755) - French Baroque composer, creator of instrumental, vocal works, cantatas and
opéra-ballets. He was one of the first composers who did not have a patron, but thanks to his diligence and prolific nature, he was able to maintain his independence and live in affluence through his composing activity and publishing his works, which were extremely popular. He was the first French composer to use the form of the Italian concerto (concertos for 5 flutes, op. 15), artfully combining elements of French and Italian music.
