Michel Corrette (1707 - 1795) - French composer, organist and pedagogue. He worked as an organist in the
Sainte Marie du Temple church in Paris for 54 years, he only lost his position in 1791 during the French Revolution - the church was sold to the townspeople and demolished a few years later. Corrette-pedagogue wrote almost 20 textbooks for various instruments (including recorders). He published the first collection of sonatas for flute, violin, musette, brass and
hurdy-gurdy in 1727.
