Georg Friedrich Händel (1685 - 1759) - German composer, virtuoso keyboard player. He was born in Halle, studied law, but devoted his whole life to music. From 1712 he worked in London, where he first composed an opera, later after the fateful events surrounding the
Beggar's Opera in 1728, he moved to the oratorios. In addition to a number of operas and oratorios,
Water Music,
Music for Fireworks and other instrumental works, he also composed beautiful, energetic and intimate sonatas for recorder and basso continuo.
