Riccio, Giovanni Battista

Giovanni Battista Riccio (late 16th century - after 1621) - composer of the Venetian early Baroque, known for his three books of vocal and instrumental compositions. In the first book, the surviving reprint of which was published in 1612, we find 2 canzonas, one of which is written directly for recorders. The third book again contains several canzonas for various instruments, including recorders. La Grimantea con il tremolo is one of the first compositions to use the tremolo technique
